EEG workshop: Pros and cons of a stationary vs. a mobile EEG system

3 februari 2025 09:00 till 16:00 Workshop

Joint workshop organized by Lund University (LU) Humanities Lab and LiLa-lab (Linnaeus University) – Huminfra partners

Description:

In this workshop, we will compare and contrast a stationary EEG system with low impedance caps (Neuroscan and Easycap) and a mobile EEG system with active electrodes (BrainProducts and actiCAP). We will go over the advantages and disadvantages of these systems. Participants will be able to try capping with both systems, and we will jointly look at and discuss the data acquisition systems (Curry 7 and BrainProducts).

The goal for the workshop is to give participants a chance to try out the two systems and discuss which setup would suit their particular research question best. We will also inform participants on how they can gain access to Humlab’s and LiLa-lab’s equipment in accordance with the aims of Huminfra.

Pre-requisites:

Participants should have a basic understanding of EEG methodology (but do not necessarily have to have used EEG prior to the workshop) and ideally, they plan on carrying out an EEG study. Note that the workshop does not cover theoretical aspects of EEG methodology or data processing.

Registration:

Admission is based on a first come, first serve basis with a maximum of 20 participants. Please send an email to Sara.farshchi@humlab.lu.se or Annika.andersson@lnu.se to sign up prior to 15 January 2025 at noon. If you have any questions, you are very welcome to contact us for those too.
