Grant from LU Innovation for spoken language identification
The lab has received a 'Verification for Collaboration' Grant from LU Innovation. The project is undertaken in collaboration with the Swedish Migration Agency, which faces an increasing need for different types of language analyses.
The project is about spoken language identification, where the task is to determine which language is spoken in an audio clip of an anonymous speaker.
The project uses machine learning methods and will train, test and fine-tune existing appropriate frameworks for the task, using language materials selected in accordance with the Swedish Migration Agency's needs.
