The Lab hosts symposium Culture, brain, learning
Published 18 November 2014
The Lab hosts an international symposium entitled Culture, brain, learning Nov. 19-21, 2014.
This is the third in a series of interdisciplinary symposia organised by the Wallenberg Network Initiative which links Lund, Umeå and Stanford Universities.
The symposium, generously funded by the Peter Wallenberg Foundation, targets a key question at the intersection between the humanities and science:
How can knowledge of the mind and brain contribute to our understanding of human culture and social behaviour, and how can we use the products of culture and the nature of social interaction to understand how the mind and brain develop, learn, remember, and create?
We gather some 60 scholars from the humanities, social sciences, neuroscience, and education to discuss this central issue from different perspectives. The event consists of talks, posters, and demos, as well as broader discussions of the core topics guided by neuroscientist and science writer Mo Costandi.
